Excelsior has many free resources for study on
their site. It's a good resource for getting the basics of
DSST exams and information specific to your chosen exams.

Amazon's highest rated DANTES/DSST book is called DSST: The Official
Test Preparation Guide. It was published 7 years ago and it's
information is out of date and only covers 8 subjects.

Pass Your
Class
Pass Your Class offers book based and flash card
study materials for many of the current CLEP exams.
They offer a money back guarantee on their materials if the
exam is failed. Although
relatively thorough the price of their books are nearly $40 each
with shipping. That can add
up for anyone wanting to take more than a couple of CLEP exams.

Speedyprep
Speedyprep offers online study using a
fill-in-the-blank style of testing, unlike the actual tests.
They offer 10 tests online.
Each question is followed by a brief explanation of the
answer. Their first month is
$9.95 with each additional month being $23.95.

The Free
University Project
The Free University Project provides many
examples and resources for studying articles, lectures, and books in
preparation for CLEP exams.
The majority of the material is rather dated with most updates being
done in 2004 with some again in 2006.
This site could save the test-taker with a lot of time some
money, yet is rather frustrating to find the required information.

Instant
Cert
Instant Cert offers the most courses we have
found with over 45 test including CLEP, DANTES, and ECE (Excelsior)
college credits. It’s easy to
use and relatively inexpensive at $20 per month.
It’s questions are fill-in-the-blank which does not correlate
with the actual multiple-choice tests that you will be taking.
The questions are followed by an explanation of the answers.

Peterson's
Peterson’s offers over 24 CLEP guides to study
with. They have some
multiple-choice and some fill-in-the-blank questions online.
The main drawback with this service is the great amount of time it takes to
actually study using one of their guides. The other drawback
is the $19.95 they charge
for each guide.
